I didn’t start lifting weights until I was in my mid twenties. As some of the sports and activities I’d
been doing faded into the background, I decided that I needed to do something good for my
body.
I stepped into the gym uncomfortable, uncertain and fairly clueless. I didn’t feel like I belonged
there and was afraid of looking stupid, so I signed up to work with a personal trainer.
I really appreciated the one-on-one instruction and the structure of an intentional system that
provided me with the reward of being able to track and measure my progress.
I’d been thinking about leaving the restaurant industry where I’d been working since I was
sixteen and knew that I wanted to help others improve their health. So I left the kitchen and
headed for the gym.
I first got my certification through N.A.S.M. In 2014 and since then, I’ve dabbled in circuit
training, bodybuilding split style workouts, to powerlifting. I even did some boxing for a while.
My personal interest has moved its focus to competing in Strongman, but that doesn’t mean that
yours has to.
As your coach, I’m here for you. I know what it’s like to feel out of place in the gym because I’ve
been there too.
Whether you’re entirely new to the gym, just getting back, looking to smash some PR’s or even
interested in the competitive aspect, I have the tools that will help you reach your goals.
