Hyde Park Gym is a complete-minimalist gym, with space for weightlifting, powerlifting, strongman, bodybuilding, sports performance and general fitness. We are known for our family atmosphere and diversity. An Olympian working out next to a great-grandmother is the norm. The gym is also known for “the Arm” – the gargantuan dumbbell-curling bicep that penetrates Guadalupe Street. Helmed by iron game legend Mike Graham in the 80s and 90s, HPG is a funky piece of fast-disappearing Old Austin.

Beginning June 1, masks will be optional in the gym. Hand washing upon entry, distancing, and disinfecting equipment after use will remain mandatory. We have been busy tracking our staff’s vaccination schedules, consulting with area experts, and carefully considering the impacts on our community.
Our slowest times are 9-11 am and 1-3 pm M-F and Sat/Sun 2-4pm. Dumbbells, med balls, rowers, plyo boxes, squat stands…. can all be taken into the pen where you can lift outdoors. We’ll even help you carry it out there.
